Environmental Resources

Jamestown is already a leader in natural resource conservation in many respects. For example, nearly 30% of the island's land area is permanently protected open space, recreation, or agriculture . . . and growing!

Conanicut Island Land Trust - Promotes and develops the natural resources, protects the watershed resources, and preserves natural esthetic areas within Jamestown.

Jamestown Conservation Commission - Volunteer-run not-for-profit organization that promotes the preservation of natural resources in Jamestown.

Jamestown Water Division - Information on local water restrictions and reports on water quality.

RI Wild Plant Society

RI CRMC Coastal Landscapers Program has resources for new approaches to landscape management that protects our coastline and its diverse habitats. Resources include a list of invasive plan species, RI Native Plant Guide, and Coastal Buffer Planting Guide.
