Resources for Natural Resource Conservation

Jamestown is already a leader in natural resource conservation in many respects. For example, did you know that Jamestown has a Mandatory Recycling Rate of 43.6%?  Only eight municipalities in the state are doing better. Also, nearly 30% of the island's land area is permanently protected open space, recreation, or agriculture . . . and growing!

Conanicut Island Land Trust

The Conanicut Island Land Trust, formed in 1984, is a volunteer-run private, not-for-profit, tax exempt organization that promotes the preservation of natural resources in Jamestown.

Jamestown Conservation Commission

The purpose of the Conservation Commission is to promote and develop the natural resources, protect the watershed resources, and preserve natural esthetic areas within Jamestown.
